For many years every first week of January is my moment of reflection and dreaming. Stepping into the new year I like to see what was the best in the past year and to understand what I am looking forward to in the new year, what I want this year to be for me and my family. Many business mentors and coaches advise sharing the New Year resolutions publicly as it helps a lot to commit to the goals settled and make them a reality, so I decided to share some of my thoughts and goals for 2022 with you!
Bye-bye 2021

If I could describe a year in one word, I would choose for 2021 the word CHANGE. Looking at how the last two years went, I do not know about you, but at the end of 2021, I needed a miracle. I was feeling burned out, anxious, exhausted, and completely worn off. What I was doing stopped making any sense, my life as creative and a mom became more chaos than beauty. Who has teens at home (I have 3!) as a parent will understand what I mean.
I lost the joy of everyday life and inside of me all craved for a change. More and more I was missing the action of the hectic office life, “that” life – before I became a mom and creative entrepreneur. Thus, I closed SofiBabyShop and started to work hard to understand what I want my life to be, what I was missing, and how to fix what was not working for me anymore.

New beginnings
Usually, the beginning of the year is considered to be a new beginning and a fresh start. But for me, this fresh start happened in November 2021- I found my dream job in the sales department of a well-known local company that produces machines, and production lines for the dairy industry. This change was HUGE! Even though I had work experience in the back-office role for over 12 years, the machinery and dairy industry are a completely new world to me. This very technical area is far away from fashion, design, and the creative work I’ve done lately but not less fascinating. Learning many new things required my full attention, that is why you did not see me much online during the last two months.
Believe it or not, but my new job was the miracle I needed. I found not only interesting and well-paid work but also new friendships and a fantastic dynamic environment that helped my personal growth in so many ways! Working at home a lot of times felt lonely. Working in a very friendly, active, and young team feels great!
My new job changed ALL for me and my family, but I cannot be happier. At some point, I realized that I need to have a full-time job to balance my creative spirit and have the freedom to create without thinking of money, paying the bills, and price tag. Just create to feel JOY. To share with people my knowledge and my passion. To help more people discover the beauty of making their own fashion and making by their own hands amazing and unique pieces to transform the house into a loving and cozy home. Focusing on designing without pressure to make money works much better for me. And my ambitious part can spread the wings in the office.

My word for 2022
I feel grateful for this opportunity and a new beginning, especially because I worked really hard for it. My two biggest dreams – desired monthly income and to start driving – finally came true. The driving part needs a special remark! It was the most challenging and difficult thing I’ve ever done: after I was hit by the car just thinking to drive was causing panic attacks. And the thought that finally (after 15 years and many failed tries), I’ve made it lightens me up. My new friends helped me to overcome my biggest fears, be more confident in myself, and to know my worth.
That is why for 2022 I choose the word HOPE.
” Where there is hope, there is faith.
Where there is faith, miracles happen.”
I hope to realize all the creative projects I have in mind for this year. If you follow my blog during the next months, you will see that there are many exciting projects in the works!
Hope to take better care of me and my dreams, my well-being, and serenity. Having meaningful and mindful life makes it living better and in full. It helps to be a happier and better person, give more to the family and community you are living in. So many times, we take for granted our well-being, me included, and I want to get better at this.
I hope to see my children grow into happy and good people, walking beside them every step of the way. Teaching about the importance of feeling well and being confident with my own example. Showing them the tools that help to stay focused, be mindful about what you are doing, and fight negativity, anxiety, and all the side-effects of the pandemic times.
I hope to find new friendships, see new places, make new experiences, and have the full-speed life I always wanted to have. Make new memories with people I love and care for.
I hope to see my sister, her little girl, and my mom in person, not on the phone screen. Being far away from them is really hard.
I hope to start workshops so we can meet in person and create nice and cozy things for your baby or home together.
To close this post, I want to share with you another favorite quote about hope:
” At the end of the day, all you need is hope and strength.
The hope that it will get better, and strength to hold on until it does.”
And what about you?
What are you hoping for in 2022? What word you would choose for the new year???
