A new simple triangle shawl knitting pattern has landed in the shop just in time for upcoming cold days (to keep you busy) and holidays. It is designed for girls 6-12 years old. And it is probably the easiest shawl pattern you can find!
Design story
This design is special to my heart because I created it for me and my daughter to wear together. I noticed that she liked to try my things on and, as you can imagine, she looked cute and funny because all the things were too big for her.
I realized that wearing a piece together that will look nice on both of us can be a great way to bond. Yep, I am on that mommy and me trend too 🙂
Thus I created a design that we both could enjoy. For her this garment was a cozy chunky shawl and for me – a triangle scarf. This is how Charlotte Shawl’s design came to life.
About the pattern
The shawl is worked from top to down on circular knitting needles in a garter stitch. I added to it crochet elements – cast on for a relaxed edge and the border. But if you have never crocheted before, do not panic – we’ve got you covered with helpful video tutorials.
You will find links to all tutorials for the pattern and detailed written instructions in American English.
The crochet elements are optional – you can cast on using your preferred method and you can leave the shawl without a crochet border.
The shawl knitting pattern is done in Garter Stitch which is very easy and beginner-friendly. Chunky weight yarn makes this a fast project, ideal for busy mamas.
I hope Charlotte Shawl will become your family heirloom and keepsake. They grow up so fast! And handmade things we do for our children remind us about those beautiful days and moments spent together.
I would LOVE to see how your project turned out. Don’t forget to tag @sofiewhitedesigns on Instagram to share the #workinprogress and finished item. I will be happy to share your post or story in the “Made by You” highlight.
Happy making friends, lots of love!
